Personally, Ben loves spending time with his family, especially on occasional trips in their campervan. When time allows he also enjoys music (playing guitar and twiddling his synths), typography, fashion, films, food and technology, along with the haziest and hoppiest beers going.
He is recognised by the World Trademark Review 1000 as one of the UK’s leading intellectual property lawyers.
Professionally, Ben has a deep understanding of IP strategy, management, exploitation and enforcement developed from working with listed companies, font foundries, breweries, FMCG manufacturers, health trusts, creatives and entities operating in emerging technology markets.
He has a particular talent for assessing and addressing complex legal matters in the real commercial world, advising clients so that they feel empowered and able to understand fully the consequences, risks, and potential outcomes of their plans.
He has led negotiations with blue-chip software providers, Premier League football clubs, national sports governing bodies, and international cinema chains.
Ben has lectured and trained internationally, including delivering training in respect of SaaS Escrow and legal considerations relating to the same to a leading Australian law firm, debating the ownership and commercial considerations of ‘open source’ and creative commons licensing with Creative Commons UK, (broadcast internationally), delivering a ‘Master Class’ lecture to Music Management course students at Liverpool Institute of Performance Arts (LIPA) and running legal clinics for creatives at the Foundation for Art and Creative Technology and the British Fashion Institute.
In addition to contractual non contentious matters (both simple and complex), Benjamin has experience of litigation in the UK Intellectual Property Office, County Court, the High Court, and the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC).

Tom loves music of all genres, spending time with his friends and family, and good beer!
He is recognised by the World Trademark Review 1000 as one of the UK’s leading intellectual property lawyers.
Tom has a particular specialism in IP enforcement and litigation strategy, and has advised some of the UK’s leading independent creative businesses.
His client-base includes SaaS providers, software development companies, service providers to Premier League and Bundesliga football clubs, font libraries, famous fashion maisons, award-winning artists and international cosmetics companies.
Tom acts in litigious ‘soft-IP’ matters before the UK IPO, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC), the High Court (Business and Property Courts), and County Court.
He also regularly advises on all aspects of non-contentious commercial law, with a particular focus on IP exploitation (commercial contract drafting and negotiation) and data protection matters.
Before ASENDA LAW, Tom held the position of IP Counsel for Europe, Middle-East and Africa at a US-based listed company. Prior to that role, he worked for several years at a well-regarded London-based IP boutique.
